I can haz...

I am an avid fan of Icanhascheezeburger.com and I thought it was about time I submitted a pic of my own. The model is my sweet Kallie Kat. I was on Twitter (which you can see if you look close) and I had set my laptop down for something and she crawled right on top of the keyboard (one of her favorite spots). I got the camera to get a couple shots of it and this shot couldn't have been more perfect, nor could I get that shot again if I tried.

If you'd like to vote for Kallie Kat, here is the link =)

The Journey Ahead

roadtraveled.jpg

Meeting people on Twitter is nothing new, but I can say that it is an exciting adventure, none the less. I recently friended @jacklhasa (who is a super cool tweeter) and learned something very envious about him and his friend. You see, Twitter in itself is quite the journey but @jacklhasa and @scarab are taking the term "journey" to an entirely new level. They are gonna pack up, ship out, and travel cross country in search of work, sanctuary, and camaraderie.

The purpose of the trip? --->From the mouth of Jack, "The purpose of the trip is the all-important pursuit of the American Dream. We are young and terribly aware of the Fear. We need more experiences in order to become the people we want to be."

They are asking for any kind of help that you can give.

  • Blog about it, including links, to spread the word to your friends.
  • Donate money via pay pal (email address is: jackstravelfund at Yahoo dot com)
  • Offer work, lodging, transportation (they may be hitch hiking and thats scary)
  • Anything you can do, even if its a few words of encouragement. Every little bit will be greatly appreciated!!

To learn more or to keep up with the travels, here is JACKS BLOG and his TUMBLR LOG.

To Jack and Scarab~~ I wish you both the best of luck, safe travels, and that you achieve all that you are looking for. Just remember .... don't forget to stop and smell the roses along the way =)

What does your name mean?

Some of these things are so cheesy that you just have to stare at them with a dumbfounded look. However, some of these things are so dead on, its scary. Granted I am sure these are all "scripted" and are all luck of the draw, but ones like this creep me out.

I subscribe to a website called Blog Things on my Google Reader page and every once in a while I will "play along". I was browsing past entries and came across this one that peaked my interest. Low and behold, it was a dead ringer!! Give it a try and see what it says YOUR name means by clicking HERE. How close is it?

What Karrie Means

You are a seeker of knowledge, and you have learned many things in your life.
You are also a keeper of knowledge - meaning you don't spill secrets or spread gossip.
People sometimes think you're snobby or aloof, but you're just too deep in thought to pay attention to them.

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.
You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.
You have the classic "Type A" personality.

You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something.
You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense.
You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.
You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.
You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.
You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.
At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

No Offense!?

I had went shopping this weekend and was excited about a few things that I purchased. One being a new game for the Xbox 360, called F.E.A.R. Files. I recently learned of a sequel that is coming out for this called Project Origin so I figured I had better start with the original, even though you really don't have to. Project Origin is not available yet and I am not so patient, and this way I can at least see if I like it. Watching the walk through for Project Origin is a riot though, and I am pretty sure I will be getting that too. Okay, so this isn't your typical girly girl game, but you gotta have something to play to take your aggressions out on, right? **NOTE: Not recommended for children to watch..lol.

So anyways, I got a bit off track. I wanted to play MY game yet my kids wanted to play THEIR game. Boo Hoo..lol. But I give in because the grovel so well. They wanted to play Scene It? so we played for about an hour and a half. We were just about done and the following took place.

  • Bug (he's 6) goes, "Mom how come you know so many of these answers?".
  • Before I could answer, my daughter (she's nearly 10) chimes in....
  • First she looks at me and says, "No offense, Mom!" holding up her hand at me like she is saying "stop".
  • Then she looks at Bug and says, "shes old, so she knows a lot more stuff!"

WHAT??? I had to laugh, just at the presentation of her answer. How cute is that? I am only 31 and by no means "old" by my standards, but to think that she thinks I am, makes me laugh. It makes me remember back when my grandmother used to say she was old (mind you, she was 50 something at the time) and I would say back to her, "Grandma, your not old till you turn 100." I also remember thinking she was right, but I was too nice to tell her that. I have a lot to teach my daughter. Giggles....

So after a chuckle, I will leave you with a bit of a serious quote that was emailed to me at work today. Ironic, actually.

"Wisdom doesn't automatically come with old age. Nothing does - except wrinkles. It's true, some wines improve with age. But only if the grapes were good in the first place."
Abigail Van Buren

Hug Me =)

Wowzers...its been a bit again since I have posted. But when I saw this I just had to add it here because it has a special meaning to me. I have no idea where the photo came from other than THIS is where I found it. First of all its absolutely adorable but anytime I hear the word "bunny" or see a "bunny", a smile spreads across my face. There is only one who will know why...thank you for all the smiles!
