The Climb

I am not much of a teeny bopper fan, other than the checking in on what my daughter is paying attention to, but when I heard this song, I actually stopped to listen and enjoyed it. Then my kid told me who it was and I cringed.... lol. I guess it's not so bad for the daughter of Mr. Achy Breaky Heart. *cringes again*. She actually has a really good voice, I must give her that.

Miley Cyrus recently released the song The Climb and is the song I am speaking of that I must admit to liking. **ducks from objects being thrown at me** Hee Hee!

The video is pretty cheesy but I what I like are the lyrics. They express how no matter where in life you are, there are always going to be up hill battles. You will lose some and some you will overcome. The important thing is how you tackle it and that you keep going, no matter what. Keep your head held high and learn from your experiences and if you happen to get knocked down, get back up and try again!

This is one song I don't mind that my daughter listens to and I'll even sing along with her (just cover your ears)!!

Hoppy Easter :)

Today was a really quiet day for the most part. We didn't have anything extravagent going on so it was mostly a relaxing day.

Quiet days are nice as I get a chance to do a few things that I don't always get the chance to do. One of those things is my paper crafting/card making. I used to religiously work on cards and new things and then a couple years ago during the winter, a pipe burst. Just so happened that it was in my craft room :( What a mess that created. Everything had to be moved out of the room, the carpets were soaked so they had to come in and vacuum out all the water and clean the carpet. The drywall where the pipe burst was also soaked so that had to come down to repair the pipe and then the remainder of the wet drywall came down too. After the pipe was fixed, the room remained a mess until I could get it repaired. A few months ago it was repaired but still a mess because I had to put everything back. I did that a few weekends ago and have slowly been getting back into the groove. I seem to have lost some of my mojo though... *sigh*.

So I was puttering around in my room trying to come up with something cute for a friends birthday at work. This is what I came up with for her, and then a couple others too :) It's a rough start, but a start at least....

I just love this set of stamps!! Turtles are my favourite (which by the way, they don't make enough turtle stamps for me..heh) but this little Owl may be my second favourite :) They came from THIS store. I know you can't tell but these little guys are raised up with pop dots so in person it is 3 dimensional. I hope she likes it!
This sweet little girl came to me all the way from Scotland from a store called Funky Kits! I just loves her and she is so fun to color with Copics!!

Let's see, this one was just a girly girl card that I thought would be cute. It's hard to see but the white background is embossed and the image is raised up with pop dots.

I used to keep a separate blog for my cards. I have to decide if I want to keep up two or not. I may have to just to keep things separate, though. Anyways, I just thought I would share :)

Happy Easter!!

Little Bunny Foo Foo

My daughter came up to me to day and we had the following conversation...

Her: Mom, do you remember that Bunny Foo Foo song?
Me: You mean this one...*starts singing* "Little Bunny Foo Foo hopping through the forest, scooping up the field mice and bopping them on the head....." *continues till I can't remember anymore* ;)
Her: Yes! That's it, but there are more words.
Me: Ok, lets Google it.

So we Googled it and first found the lyrics and we both read and sang the words, of course giggling all the way through it!! Hee Hee!

Then Bug came in because he was wondering what all the fun was about :)

Then she asked me if there was a video in the search. Of course there was!

Ok, mind you, this is the cute little Easter song that I sang as a kid and it seems as though kids still sing and enjoy it. It was just about a sweet little bunny picking up mice and (we will assume) gently bopping them on the head. I mean mice are not bunnies enemies, are they?! So lets just say when I saw this video, it wasn't what I expected. However, I can say my kids and I laughed our asses off when we watched it! I had tears running down my face from watching the video and listening to my kids giggle at it!!

To warn you, if you have ever seen Happy Tree Friends, it's pretty similar ... heh!

**Please note: I am not a bad mother for letting my kids watch this, and in no way do I condone violence or harm to animals, so don't even go there! Please :)

Revenge

Work doesn't always have to be "work". You gotta have some fun once in a while and my team loves to prank each other and people from other units. We go from placing a post it note underneath their mouse to cover up the laser so it will not work, putting 3-hole punch circles in their fan so when they turn it on they fly all over, turning radio volumes full blast so when they turn it on it's blaring, tieing fake spiders to a string leading to the next desk so when you pull on it lightly it looks like its moving, hiding a remote controlled "fart box" at their desk and making it go off unexpectedly, hiding fake rats in drawers to scare the shite out of them when they open it, wrapping an entire desk in aluminum foil, and on and on and on and on......

So, when I saw this video I just knew I would have to do this. Just gotta find an old keyboard and I know just the person to I can do this to...hee hee!!!

Glitter In The Air

I know that Pink has gotten a lot of grief in the past, and perhaps she still does. I pay no mind to it. As I've said before, I make my own choices on what I like, and I like Pink. (The color and the artist..heh).

I've enjoyed Pink in the past because she is just a bird of a different color. Listening to the same stuff over and over again gets boring sometimes and you just need to spice it up. No, not with the Spice Girls either ;) Her albums in the past have been pretty off the wall and her latest album, Funhouse, really surprised me because some of the songs were pretty tame and heartfelt. My favourites are I Don't Believe You and Glitter In The Air.

I don't traditionally post videos with "photo shoots" but this was the best I could do to be able to post the song and some of the photos are really great! I've included Glitter In The Air because we've all been there and there is a lot of truth and reality to this song...have a listen, hm?

Have you ever fed a lover with just your hands?
Close your eyes and trust it, just trust it
Have you ever thrown a fist full of glitter in the air?
Have you ever looked fear in the face
And said I just don't care

It's only half past the point of no return
The tip of the ice burg
The sun before the burn
The thunder before lightning
The breathe before the phrase
Have you ever felt this way?

Have you ever hated yourself for staring at the phone?
You're whole life waiting on the ring to prove you're not alone
Have you ever been touch so gently you had to cry?
Have you ever invited a stranger to come inside?

It's only half past the point of oblivion
The hourglass on the table
The walk before the run
The breathe before the kiss
And the fear before the flames
Have you ever felt this way?

La La La La La La La La

There you are, sitting in the garden
Clutching my coffee,
Calling me sugar
You called me sugar

Have you ever wished for an endless night?
Lasso the moon and the stars and pulled that rope tight
Have you ever held your breathe and asked yourself will it ever get better than tonight?
Tonight
