I went to see My Sisters Keeper today and was truly disappointed. The book was amazing and I know that they cannot possibly fit every thing that happens in a book into a movie, but I was speechless at the end. They completely changed the ending. I mean black vs white, night vs day. What happened in the movie did NOT happen in the book. I just don't understand why or how they can do that. I don't know how much involvement an author has over a movie that is based off of their book, but you would think they would have some say to make sure its true to the novel, and in this case, it didn't happen. If she did have some control over it, then shame on her. So many things were left out. Main charachter traits were not protrayed the same and some main charachters were left out completely. The movie was choppy and did not flow very well. That's just my opinion based off of reading the book. Take it for what it's worth.
I'm not saying the movie was horrible but I'm wishing that I hadn't wasted the money to see it. I should have waited until it came to DVD. I really should know better when it comes to books versus movies. I'm hoping Harry Potter will be the exception to the rule.
My daughter went with me to see the show and it was a nice time to spend together. I think part of the reason she wanted to come along was to tease me because she knew I would cry. She, amongst others I know, always pick on me because I cry at everything, especially sad movies. I told myself that I wasn't going to cry this time because I already knew what happened and what it was about so there would be no reason to, right? Gah! I tried really hard and still soaked three napkins with tears! I don't know how people do it. How they can watch a movie like that and not be affected, or if they are, how do they hide it? I wish I could be more like that. Keep more to myself. Be strong and not so vulnerable. I'm working on it, but it's not an easy task....At least I wasn't the only one in the theater who didn't leave with dry eyes!!

hollywood does this all the time. SOme say to save time, or for the directors vision or other bs. It usually winds up sucking. I try to not see a movie if Ive read the book or the other way around.
